product operation
LEANOMS
Here's how a DTH drill hammer works:
Drill Bit: At the business end of the DTH hammer is a specialized drill bit designed for the specific type of drilling required, whether it's for rock, soil, or other materials.
Compressed Air: DTH drilling typically utilizes compressed air as the driving force. The compressed air is forced down the drill string (a series of connected pipes) to the hammer.
Percussion Mechanism: Inside the DTH hammer, there is a piston or hammer mechanism. When the compressed air is directed into the hammer, it strikes the piston, causing it to move rapidly up and down.
Impact on Drill Bit: As the piston moves up and down, it transmits a powerful impact force to the drill bit. This impact force allows the bit to break through the rock or soil it's drilling into.
Cuttings Removal: Simultaneously, the air also carries the rock or soil cuttings created by the drilling back up to the surface through the annular space between the outside of the drill string and the inside of the drilled hole.
