Water well hammers, also known as water well drilling hammers or percussion hammers, are tools used in the drilling of water wells, boreholes, and geothermal wells. They are a part of the larger drilling equipment used in the construction of water supply systems. These hammers are primarily used in the process of percussive drilling, which involves repetitive striking or hammering to break through rock or other geological formations to reach underground water sources.

How To Work?
LEANOMS

Basic Principle: Water well hammers operate on the principle of creating repetitive impact or hammering motions to break the rock or other subsurface materials. This is different from the rotary drilling method, which involves the continuous rotation of a drill bit.

Components: A typical water well hammer consists of several components, including:product-683-600

Hammer Bit: The part that actually strikes the drilling surface.

Drill Pipe: The pipe that connects the hammer bit to the drill rig and provides a passage for the drilling fluid (usually water or drilling mud).

Piston: Inside the hammer, there's a piston that moves up and down within a cylinder. The piston is powered by compressed air, hydraulic fluid, or mechanical mechanisms, depending on the type of hammer.

Drilling Fluid System: A water or drilling mud circulation system is essential to remove cuttings and debris from the borehole and to cool and lubricate the hammer bit.

Operation: When the hammer is activated, the piston moves up and down rapidly, creating a series of impacts on the hammer bit. This repetitive impact action fractures the rock or formation in front of the bit, allowing it to penetrate deeper into the ground.

Advantages: Water well hammers are often preferred in certain geological conditions, such as hard rock formations, because they are efficient at breaking through tough materials. They are also relatively faster than some other drilling methods in these conditions.

Disadvantages: However, water well hammers can be less effective in loose or unconsolidated formations, and they may require more frequent maintenance due to the wear and tear on the hammer bit and associated components.

Transportation

LEANOMS

Shipping way:
Sample order: we suggest Courier express like DHL/UPS/TNT/FEDEX or by air
Bulk order: we suggest by air or by sea.

When it comes to bulk orders, we recommend considering air freight or sea freight as your transportation methods. These options offer cost savings and accommodate the larger quantities typically associated with bulk orders.
