Thread Button Bits Thread Drill Bit is a specialized type of down-the-hole hammer bit used for efficient drilling in extremely hard rock formations. They feature a high-strength alloy steel bit body with a threaded male pin shank on the rear end for direct connection to the drill steel.

 

The bit body is precisely machined on CNC lathes to withstand the punishing impacts from percussive drilling. Its internal structure is engineered to effectively transmit rotational torque as well as withstand compressive and tensile stresses. Hardened tool steel grades like D2 or M4 are commonly used.

 

Around the face of the Thread Button Bits Thread Drill Bit body are inserted rows of self-sharpening tungsten carbide cutters, also known as button cutters. These are either brazed or pressed into pre-formed pockets at optimized radial positions and angles.
