A "down the hole" (DTH) bit is a type of drilling tool used in various industries, primarily in mining, construction, and oil and gas exploration. It is also known as a DTH hammer bit. DTH drilling is a method of drilling boreholes or wells where a pneumatic or hydraulic hammer attached to the bottom of the drill string strikes the DTH bit, which is responsible for breaking rock or other subsurface materials.
High-Pressure Air Supply: Compressed air is fed into the drill string, which consists of multiple sections of drill pipe connected end-to-end. The air pressure can range from 100 to over 350 psi (pounds per square inch), depending on the specific drilling requirements.
